The tiny antenna sticks well to the roof - car wash, 100mph, nothing moves it.However - you will get clear coat damage from sticking it to your roof for a long period of time. Tiny bits of dust will work their way inbetween the paint and antenna base and scuff the clear coat. As soon as the weather is more friendly - I can snap a photo of mine after 5 months.I've been looking for a glass mount... but so far no luck.

ok, i think i also want XM. i don't like the antennas that don't offer the permanent solution. i want an antenna that doesn't show the wire.just like the stock FM antenna. there's the base, and no wire. as some of you know, i don't mind cutting into my car.what is out here in genvibe?

You can do what ragingfish did. Cut a notch in the base of the stock antenna and run the wire through that, just have the XM antenna placed just before / behind the stock antenna.Mine is on the back of the roof, or you could put it up against the edge of the front of the roof with the wire hidden under the weatherstripping for the window. It's pretty easy.

Question? If the stock radio in my vibe is xm ready does that mean there is an xm antenna built into the FM antenna? Or will I still need to add an additional XM external antenna?

My antenna is right behind the AM/FM antenna, about an inch forward of the liftgate seam. The wire is routed under the weatherstrip. There is only a short length of wire showing. It has stayed put through many car washes.
