Warranty problems due to aftermarket parts.

It would appear that they do have the clause that authorizes them to disallow any aftermarket parts as far as warranty is concerned, but they seem willing to work with you as far as removing those aftermarket parts and then allowing it to be fixd under warranty. I guess as long as they can say it appeared to be in stock configuration when the received it, then they can still claim it under warranty, regardless of what knowledge they actually have. This can be good, however, when it comes to a situation like mine, removing that stuff can be very costly, not to mention reinstalling it after the warranty work has been done. It would seem that they are taking this approach in more than one location, so maybe this is just the way they are going to do business. I just thought people might need to know this.

well its good to see they will try and work with you on it. But I guess it comes down to what is cheaper in the long run? Pull all the aftermarket stuff now and then reinstall later? Or foot the initial costs?

So lets say, I had aftermarket power door locks and a remote starter installed. (which I did) Does this absolve them from doing any warranty work, related or unrelated to my car ?

they will only or should only blame aftermarket if its affecting or has something to do with the problem. I have a TB spacer and had it in for warranty work on the cv joint and cladding and no questions were asked.
