Edag Pontiac Solstice: sportwagon from a roadster

Yes you read it right. A german tuning company (or whatever they call themselfs) came up with the idea. If everything goes ok they will be in Detroit this year.I think it is a pretty good idea, because the Solstice doesn't have any cargo room. So if you want to go for a trip just put the top on and you all set.

Thats actually... oddly cool looking, but I think thats mainly because the Solstice is so hot to begin with. Put that on a Miata and it would look ugly, I think.

It looks like you remove the trunk lid to put it on, but wouldn't you still have the convertible top back there taking up quite a bit of the cargo room?

Probably. But, I think this is mostly to give someone usuable cargo room for a weekend trip, as opposed to pretty much no cargo room. Got a link to more description, Mr Rich?

It probably wouldn't add that much space inside but the roof carrier thingamabob up there would help...I like the looks of this! I wanted to see GM make that Nomad concept that is based on the same platform as the Solstice... Which they showed years back but that never came to be... Solstice plus this kit is almost kinda sorta close! Has the same look, somewhat...

The german company just want to see what is the reaction is going to be at the autoshow. And than decide what they going to do. And that is about it. Sorry! I tried to find more information but nothing came up.

It looks a lot like the old Volvo P 1800 ES from thirty+ years ago. Kinda cool though.

I like the way it looks. I too wanted Chevy to make the Nomad.

This Edag thing, I believe, is to allow owners to temporarily use it for a solid roof and cargo carrying, but can be removed to drive it as a convertible again. (And still use the stock convertible roof).

Take that top, the V8 Solstice 'upgrade' mentioned elsewhere on GenVibe, and the matching trailer I photochopped a few months back... It'll be just the thing for hauling a dozen golf balls, a can of Red Bull, and your putter, 3 iron, and 5 wood to the golf course at ludicrous speed!
