Yep. I've only had the car back in my hands for a week. And I already started modding. Only at 2000 miles too. But fear not! They're both VERY minor modifications. My overall plans for this car are low-key. Not going to do nearly as extensive a series of upgrades as I had with the Vibe. But nonetheless, a car isn't yours until you customize and modify!(All photos clickable for full-size versions)Mod #1Universal mount for Motorola E815I recently bought a bluetooth headset (to keep me happy until I get the full bluetooth kit installed) and realized I never have a handy place to keep the phone where it's out of the way, and I can see the display. So I decided to reuse my UltiMount from my XM SkyFi (from back in the Vibe), and the included cell phone mount, and create a convenient place to put my phone when driving:Overall view:Phone open:Night shot:Mod #2Passport 8500 X50 hard-wire installIf you're gonna use a radar detector when driving, and use it on a regular basis, it seems only fitting to make the wiring disappear! That, compounded with the always-on (read not ignition-controlled) design of the G6's accessory outlets made this mod almost mandatory. I already had the hardwire kit from when I had this installed in the Vibe. I only had to remove 2 trim pieces for this install: A-pillar and glove box. The glove box I accidentally stumbled upon the removal of (long story ), and the A-pillar just seemed so easy to remove, I tried -- and was right. The G6's center-mounted fuse panel made this install even easier. The wiring goes from the radar detector, into the crack between the windshield and dash, into the a-pillar, then down into the dash, across the glovebox, and down into the fuse panel. Then I mounted the remote display and mute button in the little bin in front of the shifter, where it's visible, accessible, but not out in the open. The wiring goes from inside the console and comes out via a gap between two panels. Have you thought about mounting the Passport in a higher location? You'll get better radar reception (especially in the rear) plus it'll be less obvious to theives in a parking lot.I mounted my Valentine to the windshield about 2 inches from the top and just outside of the factory dot tint pattern. I pick up radar a couple hundred feet further now than I used to when it was mounted dead center in my windshield.

I pick up radar a couple hundred feet further now than I used to when it was mounted dead center in my windshield.i always had better luck with the radar detector in my old accord when i had it mounted up high as well. i only used it when driving outside of the city (way too much interference to be worth using around town), but i too seemed to get better range with it mounted high on the passenger side.

Ryan from GrafxWerks was kind enough to let me "beta test" some overlays for him. I got front arrowhead, trunk arrowhead, and wheel center cap overlays in reflective black. Unfortunately, I tore the trunk one during install. But here are a few shots of the others. I wasn't sure how I was going to like reflective black, but I have to say, I REALLY have come to love the way it contrasts the blue!(Click images for enlarged view)Still more to come!
