Ok so my sis got her vibe in the spring, and I got mine in the late summer!we both got standard, she got a hole in the shifter boot between the shifter and the dash, I think I got one starting too. there is something sharp under it.Anyone else had or having this problem?P.S. warrenty did replace but we had to wait a couple weeks for the part to come in!!

There's a retaining spring in that spot under the boot. It's the spring that centers the shifter once outta gear. If want you can unsnap the boot from the console and cover the spring tips with an eraser, tape, or something in order to keep it from punching through the boot.
