and decided to prep my car for install. I don't want to install it yet as I have an AEM dry filter on order and don't want to mess with the stock oil/cotton gauze one. I figured I could install the vibra mount and raise the fuse box so those two items would be out of they way. For the heck of it I decided to remove the stock snorkle to see how much power she'd pick up:I was pretty surprised at how peppy she became afterwards. I haven't done any WOT runs as I'm still breakin' her in. Definately alot louder. Those of you thinking about going short RAM or CAI might want to just try removeing your snorkle and see if it satisfies your urge.

Yeah when I reinstalled my stock intake for my trip across canada (better fuel mileage) I forgot the snorkle so I had to take it all apart again.

I installed my Cosmo CAI and Magnaflow cat-back yesterday. Total installation time 2 hours. The full cat-back system has a different sound than the Magnaflow muffler, resonator system that I put on the '04. It's quieter and a lower tone. Already I can feel a huge difference in power and the sound with the 5 speed is great. The CAI on the '06 does not make the same loud sucking noise when the engine is warming up as the '04 did.

so do you mean if I put say a K&N drop in airfilter, then take out the stock snorkle on the intake I would get better air flow and better HP out of the engine?

Yes. I don't know if you'll get as much as a SR or CAI, but you should notice a difference. Before buying a K&N, why don't you just pull your snorkle with the stock air filter and see if you can tell a difference?

It's easy, just remove your air filter box lid, removed the air filter, and then follow the tube. It wraps around the fender/battery to behind the headlight. There's a metal bolt and a plastic push-pin that need to be removed to get it out. You may have to loosen your battery hold down and shift the battery to get it out.

Don't forget to oil your K&N if it's not already oiled.
