03 Vibe groaning when driven between 36-40 mph

I bought a used 03 Vibe in May of this year iwht 6,000 left on warranty. In June I noticed the groaning took it to dealer. Dealer stated could not duplicate. Now that the warranty is up I am a bit worried. If I give it more gas the groaning goes away, but if I hold mph between 36-40 the groaning will continue. What do you guys think it is?

is your vibe hung over? can you describe the "groan" with a bit more detail? is it lurching, sputtering, etc?

The groaning is mosre likea low pitch noise with virbration from under the hood, but the whole car does not shake violently or anything. That is the best I can describe it.

a slight groan is normal if it is in overdrive at that low a speed. Heck, these are 4 cyl. engines and only turning 1600rpm pulling 3000 pounds would make you groan too. Just lift your foot off the gas for a second then reapply. Keep it at or above 1800rpm's tends to clear it. Your tranny may just be shifting to OD at lower rpms than most. Mine can go into OD as low as 40 mph. No biggy here. These autos are really 5 speed trannys. 1,2,3,4, then lock up torque converter= OD. I count 4 shifts all the time.
