Hello!!! question from new member!!!

Post by jwhalen »

Long time reader - new member? I hope someone can lend me a hand - could someone post the pin outs on the DRL plug? I would like to know what circuit sends the signal for just the H/L for day mode and which for all lights in night mode? I was thinking of a relay setup to keep auto lights but output the DRL signal to some LED's or even the brighter filament on my front flashers like the newer cars, not the parking light signal? I figure some type of relay configuration would accomplish this, but I need to figure the pins on the DRL unit - thanks in advance and love this site!!!!!

Hi Jessica, welcome to genvibe. Thanks for finally signing up There is a schematic of the headlight circuit in the softcopy of the Matrix service manual, there is a link to it in http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...86803 It's for an 03, but it is probably still the same circuit.

A most excellent find! Just disable the stock DRL setup and add that turn signal DRL module for $39. Very cool.

I had one on my SUV. They work great and had no problems for over a year it was instaled. If you hooked it up to parking lights it will run independent to the DRL. I think that would be kool. I did not save the unit from when I got the vibe. it is a simple install. Also, one could power the fog lights to run when the lights are off. I had mine hooked up to the turn signal. they turn off when the signal is used .
