I started out at 1pm from Rochester, New York (I go to school at RIT) with a friend who lived near me in Michigan. The first hour was a breeze to Buffalo, there we got some really nasty ice storm. I got a text message saying they might shut down the highway in Buffalo (don't know if that was true), so we sped up to Niagara Falls, the ice storm turned into a blizzard. From Niagara Falls to Hamilton/Brantford we were going 20-40 MPH. Of course, there were millions of cars/SUVs/trucks/18-wheelers trapped into the ditch. My vibe was good with the heat, I was very impressed (old car was Dodge Intrepid) although I was very glad me and my friend brought a lot of HEAVY things and put it all in the back. Our luggage definitely helped weight down the Vibe and give me more control. As we got to London, the roads were well salted and plowed so we started going 60+ mph, the more west we went, the warmer it was and there was sleet in the Windsor/Detroit area. I was never more glad to be back in Michigan! It took me about 9 hours altogether to get home, when it usually takes me 5-6 hours.

Gotta love Western NY winters! I grew up between Buffalo and Rochester, and the only reason I'm a good snow driver is because of that. I too tested out my Vibe's snow driving capabilities last thursday night from Dayton to Marion Ohio on Route 4. I was really proud of her. She only fish tailed once and that was when I was gaining highway speed after going through a town. It was pretty fun going the speed limit and passing Ohio natives going half my speed. a pic of my ride, finally, next to a distant cousin
