New VIBE Owner - AUX Input Question

What's Up Vibers!Nice to be a part of the crew! I have the single CD / 200 watt stereo option in my 2004 AWD Vibe and have been looking at options to hooking up my iPod to the radio. I see there is an Aux button and assuming that is for a CD changer in which there is proabably a connection in the rear of the radio for. I have seen the Neo Ion adapter that works directly for iPods. That is looking like the best option so far. I also saw the GM9-AUX converter too. Any recommendations from you iPod Vibers? Thanks!Antonio

I don't use an iPOD in my Vibe - but I'm sure the day I do isn't far away! I have Pioneer's AVIC-N1 in mine, and I can hook up damn near anything to it. I know with my factory deck I had to get a convertor to hook up my system... Was a joke.

Aux input is a good thing.Best $80 attachment I ever got. The Monsoon is a good stereo, with the ability to pipe in my XM Roady2, iPod shuffle, or laptop - makes it even better.I have the GM9-AUX, it was a breeze to install and sounds pretty darn good.

Not an iPod-er, but the Peripheral iPod2Car gives you some control over the iPod through the head unit.http://www.peripheralelectroni...r.aspI do use their more generic AUX2CAR product however, and it sounds great and was pretty easy to install.

I think you guys mean the GM12-AUX. The GM9-AUX is for older model vehicles (like, 2001 and below).

After reading the posts on the aux input interface it looks like the GM12-AUXv2 seems to be the solution for playing either my XMSkyFi2 or iPod. I have a 2005, single CD player w/ a BAND button. Just double checking with all who have gone through this ahead of me. Does this set sound correct? Will I need any other wires, parts, accessories etc.?Thanks

ok so im planning on putting a pc to the aux for movies/music etc. but also want my ipod to be able to be plugged in. has anyone ever had 2 things hooked to the 1 aux in and was there any distortion? of course the pc would be in all the time and the ipod would get plugged in once in a while. ie. for example my pc is plugged in, so i go and plug in my ipod, sound is off on the pc, and i run songs from the ipod to the HU, would the pc being on cause distortion? it did that to my home theatre once.

As long as there are caps on the outputs of the equipment you are connection, you could be ok. Or at least one of the outputs. This is usually the case on line outs, but not on headphones, so I wouldn't expect it on the iPod. Depends on the computer out.Even so, it might cause volume reduction and/or frequency response issues. If it doesn't work, check out the AAI-GM12 or other similar products. This would go between the AUX adapter and the head unit (your AUX adapter will act as a remote, or slave, unit). It would give you 3 inputs - 2 on the AAI-GM12 and the one on the original AUX unit, selectable by a 3-position toggle switch. They also include information on how to use a relay to switch between AUX's - maybe you could hook that up to your PC.If you look a little, you can pick one up for $36.

*BUMP* IGOT IT IN TODAY!!!! It game in the mail today. The wife was mad cause I didn't tell her I had bought it, and she thought it was some conroller extention cables for the Playstation..... when she opened it... well... she was less than pleased (she can't figure out why I spent $60 on something that does the same thing my FM mod does... ). I am going to TRY and install it this week (with pics).... but I am going to Myrtle to see my parents, so I probably son't get to until sometime next week. Wish me luck......
