Has anyone had their rear wiper just break? Mine looks allright but it's not staying up and just hangs there and doesn't work when you twist the stalk. How much do you think that would cost to fix?

The wiper arm is a part of the blade, it all sort of clips together so if yours is hanging there... it may be hanging from some of the rubber part and may just need to reassembled. If you need a new wiper arm/blade, there is a single nut that holds the whole assy on. Just remove that and pop off the arm.

Can you get us a pic of the wiper? Wasn't it a long time ago in a thread far away someone had their wiper arm come loose and rotate downward? I can't remember any specifics about it and I'm too lazy to search. Can you hear anything at all when you turn the switch? It could be that the motor crapped out all together... Check the contacts when you raise the glass to see if anything is keeping the glass and hatch contacts from touching. I'm sure that voltage could be checked at that point if you have a multimeter. That would rule out any electrical problems up to the motor. I would check to see which terminal is which, but I won't have the car back anytime soon.Good luck getting it sorted out. If it turns out to be something such as the motor, it would probably be pretty easy to replace on your own and I'm sure somebody here can get you the P/N for it.

Can you give some more info?If it is totally dead, the first thing I would check would be for some dirt in the contacts as Col Panic said. Second thing would be the RR WIPER fuse in the underdash fuse block.
Ok:1. the rear wiper normally sits in it's standby position facing left (shall we say) now mine:1. is just flopped down. Like it's still attached but it doesn't stay pointed to the left. I can physically rotate it around and around. 2. The stalk doesn't activate it nor do I hear any sound. 3. Since I'm engineering challenged, what should I look for? I'll check it out a bit this weekend and hopefully have a better idea.
