73,000 miles and first brake work

Got 73K miles on my '03 Vibe. Just took it in for some general inspections and my front pads are needing replacements. Not too bad. I am also replacing all of the rotors, as they are looking like they only have about 6 months left on them.$403 bucks for front pads, rotors and a brake flush. Ouch. I'm on my second set of tires but feel pretty good about the life I got out of the factory brakes.

That's not bad... You must not have a caliper sticking like I do. I got somewhere around 60K out of mine BUT there was next to nothing left on the driver's side pads compared to the passenger side. I believe it is still chewing up the pads over there, there is twice the amount of brake dust on the left wheel cover than that on the right. But I was amazed I got that much out of the things.

That is a lot of money! Do it yourself, man.

I had my brakes done at about 45,000, the daily commute was killing them quickly.

I had mine changed at 9k since they were bad. The second pair lasted up to 26k. Now I get brembo rottors and axis ceramic pads. If you get more then 25-30k on them do not ever tell you actually drive fast or consider yourself wild, since you should be part of the over 60 club.
