I want to figure our how to get a line in to the stock deck so I can use my personal MP3 diskman type unit in the car. Why the heck did they label the CD/Aux button that way if there is no Auxillary input?Otherwise I like the stock deck. I love the big buttons so I can operate it with my ham fists and big gloves in the morning.

I just installed an mp3 deck in my car yesterday. I have the JVC KD-SX990 MP3 CD Car Deck. It sounds great, much better than the stock unit, and I can fit so many songs on one CD!

No new speakers. I just replaced the head unit. I'm a newbie at car audio installation. Thanks to this forum I was able to install the HU myself. Perhaps, I'll try new speakers and maybe a subwoofer later.

I have two ways: I put in a Pioneer DEHP550MP HU--plays MP3's and WMA's on CD. I also wired in a 1/8" female plud installed in a blank plastic button cover I swapped in by the emergency brake (where the coin holder was). It's wired into the back ofthe Pioneer as an Aux.BTW, A replacement button blank plug (that little 10 cent plastic doohickey) is $31 from the dealer!!! The parts guy was embarassed to quote it to me. Weird.

I have the pioneer DEH-8500 in my vibe. I absolutely love MP3. since i work at best buy, i get CD's all the time...at least 10 a month, and thats not an understatement. About every couple of weeks i compile about 12-14 CD's into a MP3 CD. gotta love it!
