Buddy of mine owns a 2000 Civic SI .. He said his cams won't lift until the motor is warmed up. I was running late for work one day this last week... pulling into traffic I did'nt notice much lift above 6200 rpm....Motor wasn't even off the C on the temp gauge. (just started it 1 min. prior)So am I to Assume it's the same for the 2zz?Thx ...Don

Being as that they are two completely different engines I wouldn't judge one by the other, though I'm not sure it's too wise to hit lift when it's cold and the engine hasn't warmed up yet...seems like that's just inviting potential damage and problems.

It's gotta be warm. Sounds and feels funny and no lift when cold. I only did this once by accident a couple of years ago, now I don't even try.

Nope...Mine just shuts down at about 6000rpm...I need three bars on the temp gauge to get it to hit lift...

Mine hits the rev limiter at 7,000 rpm's. It just feels weird to be at that rpm and not be in lift.
