That's both wierd and amazing. Waste and efficiency all in the same image.... I liked the ol' stadium.

it sucks that they are getting rid of the old one, i've been going there my whole life. hopefully the new one is cool enough to make up for that! i'm very glad it will still be "busch" stadium though, at least they kept some of the heritage.

I drive by it every night after work. It is pretty cool/sad at the same time. When this is done, it will be the third St. Louis stadium that i will have watched the cardinals in. Thanks for the picture!

Thanks for the picture!did you get to go to any games this year? it was weird looking over the edge and realizing you were kind of in 2 stadiums at once!

I did!! It was different. I wnt fairly early, so all that I saw was the shell -no seats yetI hope that I have enough money (or luck) to enjoy a game or two next year.Hey, Has there ever an effort to get Vibe owners in the Greater St. Louis area?

This may be a strange question, but which side is the old side and which is the new? I personally like the looks of the part of the right (as you look at the picture).

Makes me miss the Astrodome all over again....sniffI thought it was ingenious to incorporate the same catenary curve as the Gateway Arch.

I have looked at that picture since right after it was posted, and THAT curve was what I thought really MADE that structure look awesome. Someday we as a race are going to wonder why we didn't keep very much of our architectural heritage.I saw the old Chicago White Sox stadium, and the next time I was up, it was gone, and the new one was in it's old parking lot, and on it's site.....a parking lot. Downtown Nashville is preserving 2nd Avenue, but I really miss the old Church Street shopping area that was our 'mall' when I was a kid.....30 something years ago....

i don't care much for the new one. it looks too cookie cutter for me. there were people in this area fighting to preserve the arches and have them made into some kind of scultpture or artsy thing.

That is rather neat...Been thorugh this in Cleveland and Detroit and as I am sure you know, most of the time the old one is leveled before the new. Than again both Cleve and Detroit were not built on the same site as the old. Cleve's was soo old the plumbing could not support the fans!! Gross!!!!

I also drive by the stadium most nights. It is amazing how close to the highway the new one is.
