Has anybody tried to take their AWD Vibe out on the beach without getting stuck. Before I got my AWD Vibe I was down their two years ago with my Toyota pickup. I saw some CRV's and Foresters on the beach able to move around. Just wondering about the AWD Vibe. I just got mine May so I have no idea what's it like in the snow let alone the sand.

I think trying to take a Vibe on the beach at OBX is a very bad idea, AWD or not. I just don't think the Vibe has enough clearance. If you could get past the entrance to the beach you might be okay, but that is where everybody gets stuck. I have been on that beach three or four times. Almost every time I see a CRV or some kind of small SUV they are stuck. We almost got stuck last summer in a Jeep Wrangler. That's just my 2 cents!P.S. GO STEELERS!!!!!

yeah, that's true. the entrance is high uphill. i didn't even bother to look at the descent. it did look like soft sand however. plus from readin the link thread. it seems that AWD doesn't work in reverse.i've been stuck in mud in a FWD it wasn't fun.

Yes, I know exactly the area you're talking about at OBX where the road ends and the beach begins. I made the mistake of stopping in that area in my 4X4 Tacoma. I was able to move again but I had put it into low range, but everywhere else I was okay. I did see some CRV's on the beach but I bet you really need to be careful where you stop with those kind of vehicles. My guys didn't get it done this past Monday night but the season isn't over yet.
