Well, chalk one up for the village idiot!Last month I took apart my headlights and painted the inner housings black. It looked awesome and I am glad I took the chance to do it.This weekend was the first time I washed the car since painting the headlights. You find out real quick just how well you re-sealed your lights when you wash your car.Everything was going fine at first but then, while I was waxing my car I noticed that the driver side headlight was completely fogged up inside. I threw my normal hissy fit and decided to take the driver side light off again and fix the problem. The passenger side light looked fine until I managed to get the one on the driver side off the car, then I noticed that the passenger side light was starting to fog up as well.Needless to say, I spent my whole Saturday disassembling the headlights, drying them, touching up some of the paint and re-sealing them. This time I actually went to Checker Auto and bought some PCV waterproof silicone adheasive/sealant. Last time I just reheated the factory sealant and pressed the housings back together.Ohh well. At least this time there is more than enough sealant to keep water out.

Hmmm...It doesn't make much sense to me either now that I re-read it.Basically I was trying to say that the headlights didn't seal right after I originally took them apart and painted them. The first time I just re-heated the housings and pressed them back together (using the original factory sealant). This time I bought some good Silicon sealant and it works great!After giving it the proper 24hr curing period, it is now completely water proof. I wish I had done this the first time.Here's a pic for you:

The finished product looks great! Now I know what to do when I do mine... sealant!
