Is it normal to have a 15 second pause, before some of the interior lights come on? The auto-map lights next to the shifter, and vac control lights?I don't remember this before the wreck.. but maybe it's something I didn't notice. Thanks,Nicholas

It's not just a pause before those lights come on...it's a pause before your headlights come on at night. If you have the E-brake on, it's 15 seconds after you release that before your headlights come on, along with all the interior lights that go with that -- the shifter, etc.So if that's what's going on, yep, it's perfectly normal...annoying, but normal.

You don't have an '03 According to the Colonel this is one of the differences of the new light module for 2004 and up.

The '04+ should come on rather instantly once the engine is started and the parking brake is released.I see grass' car is a 2003 as shown in the profile, so unfortunately, this is "normal" behavior.

Thanks.. I was thinking it's this way to say "Hey! don't take off yet" giving the car 15 seconds to get started up before leaving strips of rubber down the street. If it's normal and nothing is busted, it's all good.
