I did a search but couldn't find an answer.I'm replacing the rear brakes and rotors but was wondering if I needed that tool to turn the pistons back, or will the C-clamp method work.

It appears that you don't need the special tool. I was going to replace the pads/rotors this weekend but there's still some meat left, so I'm going to wait until the spring. I did replace the front pads, however the original rotors were in good condition, smooth no grooves, so I left them. Car has about 43,000 miles.
