The Vibe on stock tires is the worst-handling car that I have ever driven. I am never comfortable with the car on snow/ice. I have had it get stuck in drive, where no other car has had problems. If you drive far from Port Huron, you may want snow tires. The car is extremely light.

With snow tires, they're excellent. I always felt comfortable in my GT with the snow tires. I can agree that I wouldn't want to drive it with the stock tires though. My Sebring has basically the same Goodyears that come on some Vibes and I've never been scared to drive in the winter until I bought that car.

Get a good set of winter tires and you are set!

while my vw golf did drive better on all-seasons than my vibe, i can't say i was ever 'scared' to drive the vibe on the stock continentals last winter. it wasn't great (and i've driven better as stated above) but it was managable. that said, i invested in a set of michelin hydroedge tires a couple of months ago so we'll see what things are like this winter!

Mine was fine on the stock Conti's last winter.Of course, I have AWD so that helps a lot.I will be running the same tires again this winter.(Last time)I will be getting some new snows for next winter though.

(off topic)we need video of one of us AWDers doing donuts in the snow.(on topic)the concensus seems to be that with a decent set of tires, you should be fine in any of the vibes.

i did fine on stock contis last winter as well!!I do have the AWD! and now i have the Stock RS-A's. It will be interesting to see how they do. May go to Goodyear TripleTreads someday. This vehicle, while light weight, is well balanced and quite stable!! Its fun to drive in the worsts of the weather!!!At First Snow, go find a big empty parking lot, and have a blast experimenting.

I put studded snow tires on and the vibe sticks like velcro to the ground!
