The Vibe gets more duct tape!

I got fed up with this nasty "clink" that was coming from right above my head with the dome light... Go down a rough road, and clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink right above your head, it was beyond annoying. This has been going on since the car was relatively new... I tried taking the dome light out, bending the clips, putting tape over them, and the like. But nothing worked. Took the light out again tonight. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but I put two layers of duct tape down on the plastic below where the clips sit. Duh! Put the stupid thing back in place and then put duct tape over top of the clips. Now, finally, no more of that clink clink clink stuff. So far at least. Duct tape and a razor knife, those are my Vibe's two best friends these days. Sorry, no pics, but I guess I can take it apart if anyone else is having the same problems and take pics then. That will give me an excuse to find more places to put duct tape.

At least you could use the duct tape to seal up the cuts to the wrists.

LOL! Nah, no slitting wrists going on here. Just using the knife to get a clean cut on the duct tape. As for the paint question, I think this would work. The only drawback - if you got sick of the duct tape and tried to take it off, knowing our paint, it would rip it right off the metal.

and you could change the colour of your car simply by covering the old duct tape colour with the new one...in essence, bulking up the body panels!

After you remove the poaint with the tape you can just get an Earl Scheib paint job for about $9.99 whenever you wanted something different.
