Correct me if I am wrong everybody, but I think it is burning sulfur from the gas you use. Nothing to worry about. You may just want to switch brands and see if that helps any.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=8344

You need a new catalytic converter and a PCM. Take a look at the thread redlava posted.I've had the same thing done on my '03. Good luck to you, hopefully your dealer respects you and won't give you any lip about it... It was like pulling teeth to get my dealer convinced they needed to do it, in the end, they had to be yelled at to get any resolution. Several of us have had the cat and pcm replaced for this exact issue. At any rate, it is not normal. Have a look at the TSB in that thread and describe it to them word for word and hoefully you can get something done.

Unless they are my dealer where they despise anyone coming in with TSB's. I went to give them the TSB number for this particular issue and the service advisor snaps at me and says that he has access to those. heh

Time to get out the window paint on the hatch glass - "(Pontiac Dealer's Name) - says the smell is normal... call (service manager's phone number) if you disagree"

But tonight, after some higher revs, but not very high the smell was very noticeable. But I would much rather not go to the dealer without the appropriate TSB. Every TSB for this problem specifies the Vibe be automatic . I cant find on the NHTSA specifying any Vibe. Can anyone help?

my '95 Bonni had it some. But eventually went away. It always passed emissions testing.
