So the wife is not impressed with the sound of the Magnaflow. Any ideas on how to quite it down or replace it. I priced out a new mid-pipe and at almost $500, I can't go that way. Let me know.

earplugs? volume control on the radio?when I drive my vibe I really don't think its that loud, maybe thats just me though. (no, I'm not 20 something.) I have a CAI and Magnaflow cat-back.maybe if you just avoid the subject she will get used to it.

My wife complained when i put my magnaflow on, then she got used to it. Then when i put my cai on she REALLY complained. Now she is used to that also and she doesnt say anything.

With the valve closed the exhaust flows through the stock muffler. With it open, the right side is a straight pipe and the left still flows through the stock muffler. I should know, he is my brother after all.

mine used to complain about my cars being loud too so I divorced my wife, any questions. No really, she was getting on my nerves with the whole wiccan thing (im christian) and then cheating with her ex and then taking my son away from me and then .....well.....you get the picture.

Has anyone tried the Bassani Dual Exhaust?

I asked the same question just recently and was told to get a longer resonator. Mine is 12" now and it was recommended that I get one that is 18" or 24" long to absorb more of the sound. How long is your resonator now?

I tried finding a magnaflow muffler that had the inlet where it needs to be and dual outs like the camaro but I cannot find one to fit our car. i wanted to be the first dual magnaflow man.

Thanks for the tips, I'll go with the resonator lengthening. Anyone know the part #s? I try searching but I keep coming up with nothing (looking for 24" resonator, will see on the weekend if it'll fit)

Make sure you post your results. I haven't done mine yet and am wanting to know how much of a difference it will make. By the way, what length is the one you have now?

The stock one in 4" round 14" long. I'm going with the 4" round 22" long if it'll fit. Going to check this weekend, then order and get someone to weld it in. Only crappy part is it is not stainless, only aluminized. Oh well if it quites it down I'm all set.
