Vacation Down South - Advice?

So, my bf and some friends of ours are thinking of taking a trip down south (like Caribbean/Bahamas type deal). Originally I wanted to go to the Turks and Caicos, but we're starting to look at other places, like Cuba. But there's a lot out there... so can anyone recommend places? We want all inclusive... There's a Cuba Sandals resort that looks pretty promising right now, but Cuba doesn't appeal to me all that much. I'd like to look at some other places... any recommendations?

One of our former Canadian members mentioned one time in one of his posts that Cuba was very welcoming to Canadians. He honeymooned there and seemed to have a really good time. I don't know if that helps you out or not. When I read your post title, I thought you were referring to vacationing in the good ole USA South. I had loads of suggestions for you!!! Anyhow, enjoy your vacation where ever you end up!

I've heard similar things from other Canadians, but it just doesn't seem as "tropical" or "lush" as other places for some reason and thats what I really want.

well to be honest with you no matter where you go, I would wait till after hurricane season. Just a hunch but I don't think you would want to end up as a casualty of a monster storm.

My neighbors go to Cancun every March and love it. Just thought I'd throw that idea your way. James

Yeah we thought about Mexico, but I think we're leaning towards Caribbean....

What about Hawaii? You can go to the less populated islands like Maui and Kauai which are very lush and tropical with rainforests and waterfalls.

Too long of a plane ride for me. 11 or 12 hours on a plane... plus I heard its very expensive.

I've been to Antigua. I stayed at Sandals there. Very nice, had a great time. My sister went to St. Lucia. She said It was great.
