Wife & I are BIG FANS of the TV show. Never saw it when it aired, but my brother gave me the box set for Christmas last year. (Which was probably better, cause they aired it out of the originally intended order)Haven't seen the movie yet....... but it got great critical reviews. My brother & sister-in-law also thought it rocked.Need to get a babysitter.....

According to the trivia section for the movie on IMDB, Wheaton has a contract for 3 movies based on the series. So if Serenity does well, I think there's a good chance we'll see more films.I think there was also the hope that if the movie did well, someone might pick up the series again.

thats what i am hoping! 3 movies!? neato! i think the best to pick up a tv series would be the sci fi network, i think they did the same thing to sg-1. movies take to long to make and i need my firefly fix!

saw it on opening night. It rocked!! I thought the movie was well done from a technical perspective as well as a story perspective. I really enjoyed the beginning sequence that gave an unfamiliar view just enough to understand what was going on, and gave the show fans just a touch more insight into the whole situation with River and Simon. What really got me, though, was the utter lack of any more backstory on the mysterious Book. Just what was he before he became a Shepherd? And now we may never know. And what was up with Wash? That just wasn't cool. But still, it was a helluva movie. I thought it was great. And i'm really looking forward to the next two, assuming they happen.

the director/creater of the series i forgot his name, had a huge plan for the tv series with story but it was cut short so im guessing the movie was the quick version :/ to bad but maybe with those character cast want to be on the new tv series

man, i don't know why FOX does that. they have some great shows they air and then after one or two seasons, cut them! like "Dark Angel" series, i was so pissed they didn't bring it back! i watched almost every episode when they came out back in 2000. of course, phil's got both boxed sets, so i've re-watched both seasons and it still pisses me off to this day why they never continued it! *end rant*

I know Fox has a bad habit of taking great shows off the air. Another example is "Freaky Links" about 4 years ago and now "Tru Calling" just last year. Firefly was a fantastic show, from what I heard they only aired 11 of the 14 episodes. I just watched the movie this weekend and was about ready to post on it but saw this one had beat me to the punch. Serenity was very well written, it had a few holes in the plot and some spots that made your ability to suspend your disbelief a little harder, but all in all a good film. And also it was nice to see the entire cast of the TV show back for the movie not just one of two of them. As like any of them had anything else to do. Unfortunately I think it has only done about 17 mil at the box office. But it got great reviews on rottentomatoes.com like around 80% positive. And Jewel Stait is freaking hot! Sorry, plot spoiler taken out, my bad. Didn't even think about it. I'm an Idiot. A stupid, stupid idiot.

The woman who played Inara- Morena B-something. The most beautiful woman I've ever seen on television.

I didn't watch the show when it first came on, but eventually I did. It's funny and very well written.I went Saturday night to see it, with my 15 year old son, we had a couple of yakkers right behind us, and I had to tell them TWICE to stop, cuz I was trying to watch the movie. After about an hour, (they just arrived at Shepherd's) we had to leave because my boy felt sick. So now I either fork out the bucks (again!) to see it ALL the way through, or wait for the DVD release.

Farscape is very good IMO. I've watched quite a few of those shows. Its kinda different as far as how its done. It has a lot of puppet actors which you can see. But its still very good, and has a lot of humor.

It's better than average fare, but not great. I've seen the entire series + the miniseries. VERY different from Firefly/Serenity, and more space fantasy than science fiction. Requires significantly higher levels of suspension of disbelief.ATTENTION! Firefly fans please see:http://www.fireflyseason2.com/index.asp
