I'm planning on removing the front and rear disc to service my brakes. does anyone ever tried this? My mechanic told me that it is "pain in the (removed)"... I just want to know if i should do it myself or go to shop.

I just took my front calipers off to paint them. it was quite easy only a couple of bolts on the back of the calipers and the bolt(s) that holds the caliper to the hub assembly.

It looks like once you move the caliper out of the way, the disk will just come off the hub, should slide over the lug studs.
