We just checked it out yesterday. It is a pretty nice looking car. It is very roomy inside. MB saying it as roomy as the E class. This is one of my choice after the Vibe's lease up in September.

Its specs don't really exceed the Vibe's greatly and the base cost ($31000-$35000 CAN...$26300-$29700 US) seems way overpriced. Here are some specs for comparison:Does anyone know the cargo capacity of the Vibe with the front seat folded down? I'm guessing that adds 6-10 cu. ft. at least.

As an American icon and status symbol, Mercedes dealers aren't used to selling or working on 'cheap' cars. They're used to catering to and servicing the high-dollar customers with high-dollar cars who don't flinch at a $300 oil change, and a $1,000 minor service. It will be VERY interesting to see how B-Klasse buyers are handled at the dealerships! B-Class forum, anyone?

But the quality what makes a big different. What ever you touch in the MB you feel the quality, and the finest workmanship. In the Vibe, well ... that's another story. Now! If you check out the new Audi A3, you see that what it is waaaay overpiced. The car is a lot smaller than the Vibe and it starts over $34.000CAD

Hmmmm...quality issue here, so I didn't add them.Second thing I noticed was that the B-class roof rack is not standard, but is a $364CAN option...check.Auto transmission costs are $850US for the Vibe; $1960CAN for the B-Class, but I didn't add them.ABS is standard on the B-Class, so I added it to the Vibe ($525US)Full airbag protection on the B-Class, so I added the side airbags to the Vibe ($745US).I added the "Sun and Sound" package for the Vibe to get the full power options (windows, locks, cruise), but am getting a premium sound system and sunroof as well ($1,140US). Adding a sunroof to the B-Class costs $1,960CAN; adding a premium sound system costs another $1,490CAN. I only added the sunroof.Bottom Line:2006 Pontiac Vibe (base) : $19,725US2006 Mercedes B-Class (base): $32,910CAN... or $27,952.92 USReally now, is the Mercedes really worth another $8000US dollars?

I could not believe how bad I was treated when I asked to see a standard transmission. They didn't have one on the lot and the salesperson assumed I wanted a standard transmission to save money (I actually just prefer a standard transmission). I felt like she thought I was somehow beneath her and didn't know anything about MB. It seemed like all she wanted was for me to leave. I decided I would never buy an MB based on the snobby salesperson. I know not all MB dealers would treat me the same but it really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Mercedes has a CVT. So comparison here.Quote, originally posted by ZubenElGenubi »Full airbag protection on the B-Class, so I added the side airbags to the Vibe ($745US).So the Vibe still short with curtain airbags.Quote, originally posted by ZubenElGenubi »I added the "Sun and Sound" package for the Vibe to get the full power options (windows, locks, cruise), but am getting a premium sound system and sunroof as well ($1,140US). I only added the sunroof.Which are in this case: Panorama louvred glass sunroof and harman/kardon® LOGIC7® digital surround sound system. So we are still short with a climate control in the Vibe. if you have ever ridden in a mercedes, you will understand the price. you cant even hear the engine when you gun it. as a matter of fact, you can barely hear the outside world! there is a lot more to a mercedes than just the extra options you get. you definitely get what you pay for.
