Interesting new promotion from Mitsu:Quote »GAS COMES STANDARD.There's only one way to beat the high cost of gas. That's in the driver's seat of a new Mitsubishi. Buy or lease any new 2005 Mitsubishi and receive a year's worth of gas from Mitsubishi Motors. You get to choose any one of Mitsubishi's 2005 vehicles and we'll pick up the cost of your gas for a whole year1.Not too shabby. You get to own one of the most thrilling cars on the road and high gas prices disappear in the rear-view mirror. That's some serious thrills per gallon. And only Mitsubishi is making it happen, with the only lineup of cars in the world where gas comes standard.
http://www.gascomesstandard.comCongrats guys! You just found the most expedient way to BANKRUPT your company!

I'm sure there's a stipulation as to how much gas that 'year's worth' includes. They probably go by some kind of national average.

Yeah... the fine print:"1Offer available from Mitsubishi Motors. Actual amount will vary based on vehicle purchased or leased. Based on average fuel consumption of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles at an average cost of $2.95 per gallon for 12,000 miles per year. Actual consumption may vary based on specific vehicle, driving conditions and other factors. Gas offer may be in lieu of other available incentives and cannot be combined with other offers. See participating retailer for details. Offer expires 10/31/05."

* This promotion is not available on the following Mitsubishi vehices: Lancer, Lancer Evolution, Galant, Eclipse, Spyder, Outlander, Endeavor, Montero.Er, anyway, I guess this promotion, despite how volatile the petroleum industry is at the moment, is STILL safer than giving people with crappy credit a free ride for a couple of years. At least they can control this, I'm sure they can just quit this promotion anytime they desire, whereas with stuff like the no payments deal that they have done in the past, their "customers" were the ones who were really in charge of that "promotion." heh

And this $1,800 worth of gas is in lieu of our usual $2,500 rebate.

I went to their site and typed in the names of all of their cars I saw there, just to be a wiseguy. But you know how these promotions go, it wouldn't surprise me for a minute if someone tried a scheme such as this to lure unsuspecting souls into the dealer only to find once they're in there, said promotion does not apply to any vehicle on the lot. "Sorry Mr. Panic, but the free gas promotion was only valid for stock #Z1323191674.13D8, and that car was sold last Tuesday!" heh

Must have been a typo - perhaps it was to read "is now available" instead of "is not available". Newsclip in today's paper said "Anyone buying an Eclipse, Endeavor, Galant, Lancer, Montero or Outlander will receive a prepaid debit card, good at most major oil companues. The ards are good for $1,500 to $2,500 in gas, depending on which vehicle is purchased and the type of fuel it requires."A local dealer was advertising new 2004 Lancer wagons a month or so ago so they must not be exactly flying off the lots.

That in the light grey text above was actually something I threw out there only for a laugh or two, I didn't pull that info from anywhere other than out of thin air. lol. It was meant to be one of those "ugh, with this crazy promotion, I wouldn't put it past them" kind of things. I wonder who they're giving the $2500 worth of gas to, the gas guzzling Montero, or the Lancer? At any rate, I don't know if giving up all other incentives makes this worth it... Paying sticker price, losing all rebates but getting "free" gas? Hard to say. Many of the local dealers for various other makes here run their own similar promotions - with only $500 in gas for instance, but I believe you can also hang onto manufacturer's rebates as well... That sounds slightly better to me...

So your VIBE really doesn't have any faults or problems? When my little brother learned that Santa Claus wasn't real, he asked in all seriousness, "Does that go for the Easter Bunny too?"
