Hi..enjoying this site.. Lot's of info. Just picked up my 05 Vibe a couple weeks ago. Was gonna buy a used one, but the rebates were too good to pass up. There wern't too many decently equipped base Vibes in the area left except for this one. Got almost 500 miles and I'm lovin it. It has the 17" wheels, and surprised how well it rides. Just put in the auto dimming mirror w/compass yesterday and hardwired the radar detector. Put in the 12v port in the console today. Looking to put a strut tower brace and tint. maybe supercharger??hello all from a happy vibe owner

The towers on the vibe are close to the firewall and are stiff enough as they are. I know MadBill even did a test to see if they move during hard cornering and he found no movement between the strut mounts. You may want to look into sway bars, or new springs instead if you want better cornering.

Welcome to Genvibe. after installing a FSB in my vibe GT after i did the springs, i noticed a big difference in cornering. then, that FSB went to Mav's vibe and he also noticed a big difference as I did. not that madbill's scientific experiment isn't correct, but from my understanding of the purpose for the FSB, it's to keep the car constantly at / / , , and | |, parallel to each other, not / or /. I believe madbill was testing for movement of / and /.

Thanks for the info and thoughts. They listed the supercharger in the 05 vibe brochure. It definitely got my attention. As for the brace, it's debateable on any handling improvement. I did like how it stiffened up the front on my old Achieva. Granted that was a flimsy chassis, even with the strut towers up on the firewall.

i suggest doing a search to verify. but from all the complaints of the 05 owners, the s/c won't work. unless you got one of the earlier ones? i can't remember. same thing with CAI.

That could be a bummer. Was figuring if I really still liked the car 6-8 months from now I'd do it. Is there a post here about the 05 SC problems..
