Locking Gas Cap!!

Finally got my hands on one for my vibe still wainting for my wifes caviler.STANT Locking Gas CapOuch expensive too... $20.I'll get a pic up soon.

do we need locking gas caps i was under the impression that lil flap inside the filler neck prevented syphoning

if they really want the gas they can just pry that open and ruin your cars body/gas flap. if i hear about incidents around my neighbor hood then maybe ill invest in a locking cap.

I would hope it wouldn't be worth that much work for about 10 gallons (or less) of gas though. Looking at the mechanism for the fuel door, it looks like it wouldn't be too easy to pry it open because of the fact that the button that holds it is not directly in line with the gap, and wouldn't really be too easy to get to without knowing and/or seeing where it is.

With most new vehicle tanks it is really hard so siphon now a days. Towards the end of the neck, there is not a straight opening like the older cars had, series of obstructions. Usually a value too. The valve prevent vapors from going up the tube and out when you release the cap.

The price of gas these days, some people will do anything.
