for those in the Houton area ... Astroworld to close at the end of THIS season

This sucks .. I just saw on the news that Astroworld is going to be closed at the end of this (2005) season. It has been in operation for like 35+ years.uhh to make it slightly on topic .. I guess we won't be having a road trip to Astroworld now.

Wow. Crazy. That place has been a Texas fixture my whole life. Went to to it as a little kid, and lived about a mile from it from 95-99.Couldn't find any information about it, though. Only thing I found was that the parent company, Six Flags, is putting itself up for sale.

ack! my family had season passes for years when we lived down in that area. the texas cyclone will be dearly missed.any word on what they're doing with the space?
