Well. some back story, in 2002 I bought a 92 Cavalier. 430,000km's on it and it last me till around february 2003. I walked into the showroom for a new car. my first new car ever and there it was. a beautifull 2003 Pontiac Vibe. I sat in it. carressed it's lines. smelled it's air... read it's price tag. Got OUT of the vibe... and sat in a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire... and said.. well.. it'll do. the Vibe then was selling for almost 29,000 (Canadian). well beyond my means. so I got myself a Sunfire. (not a bad car)well, it's 2005 now. I'm no llonger a student and have received a few raises for my great work. Warranty period was ending on the sunfire which had done me well. very few problems to be honest. but it just wasn't that Vibe.I went into the showroom on Saturday. and there it was again. a 2006, Pontiac Vibe. Power. Automatic. Coloured in Neptune. This was the car i wanted back in 2003. I walked up to the sales man and said. "Salesman. this is my car, now lets make it happen". 30 minutes later I walked out of the dealership with the slip for a 2006 Pontiac Vibe. Neptune in colour. now. I eagerly await Sept 13th. that the pickup date. The next two days will be the longest in my life.

My fire yellow sunfire was a lemon. After being a year old I had the thing in the shop once a week with warranty issues. wiring harness fried on it, the trunk would never latch and close, fuel pump went out, the car totally shut down on me going 60mph down the hiway once, after that I knew it was time to get a new car. I thought I'd never buy a Pontiac again until looking around waiting on my car to be serviced I saw that fuzion orange vibe and a neptune vibesetting there on the lot and I knew what my next car would be.

Congrats on the new Vibe. You'll like it. Got a CAI on order yet? Quote, originally posted by ragingfish »My sunfire lasted WELL outside it's warranty period with never so much as a hiccup.Had a 94 5-speed with over 110k miles on it when I sold it.....never a problem. Had a 97 Z-24 5-speed that I sold with 56k miles on it for the Vibe only because it was murder on my back getting my boy in and out of the back seat of the Z-24 when he was born. LOVED that car.

When you get it, can you do me a favor? There has been an error in the owner's manual about how to access the passenger compartment air filter, first reported here in http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=982 by NSimkins almost three years ago. The same error in the 2003 owners manual was there in the 2004 owners manual, and was still there in the 2005 owners manual. Can you check the 2006 owners manual and see if they still say to lift up on the tabs to access the filter, or if they corrected it to say to push down on the tabs? Thanksand congrats

LOL I can't say that I got THAT excited, but I was pretty damn excited when I got mine! Went to my hometown and test drove it...came back home and thought about it...decided to do it so told the dealer I'd be back like in a week to pick it up, and that week was one of the longest in my LIFE! Granted, my '95 Sunfire was dying at just about every stop sign, so I maybe would have been ecstatic to just be driving ANYTHING reliable. But it was even better that it was the Vibe--the car I'd been wanting. We'll all be on the edge of our seats waiting with you in anticipation!

Only got rid of it cause I to wanted the Vibe.

i think i was spoiled by my 98 vw golf. 216,000km and only changed starter at 200,000 (plus one battery, spark plugs once, brake pads). I went all 216k with the same clutch, rotors, etc!

its not that wrong if you really wanted a car then yes i can see people getting excited over a car, i did even though i saw it and drove it but then my parents drove it to my high school two days after we we getting it.
