You guys must have noticed this:The centre mirror is too close to the driver's visor ie pulling down the visor causes it to hit the left edge of the centre mirror . This doesnt occur with other cars I have owned.

I noticed that my mirror is very close to the left visor, not totally in the way, but I figured that was due to the aftermarket electrochromic mirror I added. I don't recall having a problem with the stock mirror, so I figured the new mirror was a bit wider.I guess it's possible that the mounting button thingy (great terminology eh?) on yours is mounted in the wrong area of the windshield. The mirror fell off of mom's car years ago when it was under warranty, the bozos at the dealer glued the button back on but in the wrong spot. And the sun visor has been in the way of the mirror ever since. Depending on the response we'll get here, that may be the case, I dunno!

Mine's fine. Never a problem. You know you can move the mirror up and down (like, not just tilt it, but move the whole thing up and down) a ways. If you look at the way it's mounted, there's two joints, and it can let you 'drop' the height of the mirror.Try adjusting it more. It shouldn't interfere with the visors at all.

I have the 2005 with the mirrors that have the map lights and they aren't even close to touching. What mirror do you have?

My mirror hits the sun visor so I just assumed every ones mirror hit the visor. It happens when I try to put the drivers side visor flat against the windshield. This knocks the mirror out of position. I am of average size and never had the windshield or mirror replaced. Perhaps its not a design flaw common to all Vibe's.

One at the windshield and one at the back of the mirror (One at each end of the extension arm). The one on the mirror is good for adjusting angle, tilt, etc, to have the mirror show you what you want to see. The one at the windhield is required so that you can reposition the mirror, up, down, side to side, If the visor hits the mirror, move it out of the way by pivoting the entire extension arm at the windhield side pivot point, then do the fine adjustment of the mirror side pivot point for proper viewing angle.

Like Joatmon said the visor is on an extension arm. If you push the visor towards the pivot point it should slide farther away from the mirror and towards the pivot point and shouldn't interfere with the mirror at all.

Thanks all. I've been annoyed with the visor hitting the mirror ever since I got the car. Asked the dealer about it twice when in for service, but just another thing they ignore. Did not know it had the pivot at the windshield. It is very tight, but it does pivot. Problem solved after 27 months!

I don't know about adjusting the visor itself, but this pic shows the range of adjustment on my mirror.

Thank you very much for the pics. I also didn't know that the mirror adjusted like that. My visor also bumped my mirror but I just accepted that as an annoyance. I feel really stupid!!!

You are not stupid. The Service manager probably didn't even know about the adjustment. The knowledge of the Vibe at "GENVIBE" is unbelievable. It seems someone in this club will always have an answer to someone else' problem.

Be careful on hot days though...my mirror came off because the glue was hot and soft.

I just adjusted mine. Now I have about 1/4" - 1/2" on each side.

Wow I didn't know my mirror had that extension!I knew it could move up, down, left and right. But I didn't know it had an extension that could adjust the height of the mirror!Gotta check that out later on today.

my 04 stock mirror hit nothing. i also have auto dim mirror, it does hit the sundeflectors on both sides now. but ohh well. the mirror is more useful than the sun shades.

I've also learned a lot by reading this great forum. All the help we could want about Vibes is right here. I gotta say, though, that the difference between us old folks and you young 'uns is sometiimes funny. For almost as long as I can remember, us old foggies have known about these inside mirror swivel joints.Posting this is probably even a waste of my time, but I just think it's cute to see you young folks catching on.
