I ordered a Lemans sunset orange Touring roadster with optional 18 inch wheels, Nismo catback and front lip spoiler. Its supposed to arrive in december, just in time for me to hopefully be fully back on my feet. I loved my fusion orange again i had to get another orange, and i like the burnt orange leather seats that come in this model

So what insurance company are you with to go from a Vibe to a car almost twice its price? Or at least 10K more expensive? I thought usually when a car gets totalled, it's hard to even get the same thing without having to make up the difference, much less being able to get such an upgrade...must be nice...I want to get in with that insurance company!

But even then there's still a shload left to be accounted for. Damn, must be nice to have the SS to cruise around in and tinker with plus the new Z on the way to cruise around and tinker with too.Must be nice to have the $$$ laying around for such things. Please take care of them, for you are a very fortunate soul. Most of us, and that is to say 99.9% of us, aren't so lucky.

I use Statefarm, and I was not at fault so my insurance agent told me first off not to rush into replacing my car and to buy something that will make me happy since I can no longer get the car that made me happy I have to find something else. Nothing 'nice' about this situation, since I lost all my savings in 3 months paying existing bills and new hospital bills and having surgeries preventing me from working because of my accident I couldn't get a car because the insurance of the people that hit me didn't even give enough for payoff, so my father helped me out with a down payment that I'll pay back to him when I can go back to work, and hopefully I can go back to work this wednesday. When I had surgery tuesday doctor said he didn't find anythign but after the surgery all my extreme abdominal pain has gone away which is excellent. So now hat I'll be able to work I'll be able to put money back for the car when it arrives. My insurance went up since I already informed them I'm changing vehicles which I expected. even though the cars totalled I still gotta pay my monthly payments to keep it active.

How come the insurance didn't help out with paying the medical bills?

If they'll pay for a car the price of the Z though, why won't they pay your medical bills? You shouldn't be having to pay any of your medical expenses out of pocket, regardless of whether the person who hit you wants to pay. If the other person's insurance defaults or is nonexistent, I thought it was usually your insurance company who picks up the tab for not just your car but also your medical expenses, then sue the other insurance company (or the individual in the case of no insurance at all) to try and recoup their costs. I know that's what happened to a family in a 2nd vehicle involved in an accident where the two of us both got rear-ended, chain reaction style. Or if your insurance co is offering a flat payoff of some kind, then why not use part of the money to get a little cheaper car and the other part to replenish your savings that you used to pay your medical expenses?

my insurance has a $5000 medical add on for if i'm in an accident and that was filled up 2x over in the E.R. after my accident. Now they are trying to get A.I.G. to reimburse me for what I had to pay, A.I.G. being the insurance company Ozark Electric uses. (the people at fault)

$5,000 seems like an awfully low medical benefit with the rising cost of healthcare these days...so basically if the tables were turned and you were at fault and injured someone in the same manner you were injured, they would only get $5,000?

by tangerine
no i have $200,000 liability medical coverage if I injure someone. that $5,000 is if I'm injured by someone else or in a 1 vehicle accident.

That doesn't make much sense though since they're going after the other company...they should go ahead and pay your medical expenses and then recoup from AIG, not make AIG reimburse you. They should at least be offering you what AIG would offer you as being the "victim."

Sadly that not how it works. We tried to get it done that way. My dad told me to stop paying bills I get in from now on and keep faxing them to AIG until they get off their (removed) and pay'm. Thats my bad situation never being in this situation before i didn't know what to do.

Are you sure that's such a good idea getting a manual? I don't know, if I were in your situation, that's the last thing I would be doing...

Yea we talked about it, my arm is healing incredably well. I start strengthening in physical therabpy this wednesday so it should be fine. He said since I'm young and healthy aside from the few things that have happened in the last 2 years I'm healing alot better than expected.

Sorry, I didn't really read the whole thread but didn't you say you wanted to get your girlfriend a Z?

Yes he told me having this surgery working on this nerve there were gonna be chances of me not having full use of my arm. After I saw him last and got into physical therapy they said its doing alot better than expected. After that accident I kinda got a wakeup call to be safer on the roads so I don't expect to do any crazy driving or racing so driving a standard should hopefully not be a problem. As for Sputnik's question, yes originally my gf wanted a Z and I didn't know alot about them when I was asking about them, while I was looking for me a car and helping her get a new car I myself fell in love with the Z while she changed her mind after seeing she can't afford one working at Sonic'. My arm is still very stiff but the Z I drove around the lot with my dad shifted incredibly smooth so I'm hoping I'v made the right choice.

Before dealer ordered my car I went to dealer and changed my order. I'm getting an enthusiast Coupe, same options and an automatic so I don't blow money on a car I can't drive (A valid point was made, we don't know what my arm is gonna do now and it would be stupid to blow money on something i can't use). I decided to get a coupe because I wasn't thinking and the roadster doesn't have much headroom with top up. I change my mind too much but now I think I have my perfect car on the way. Enthusiast version is better to me after researching because it come with HID headlighgts and will only run me $29,000 leaving me money to put a few mods on like a new sound system (yes gotta have it). which is one thing there is no room for in the roadster.

The coupe is much nicer than the roadster. I am thinking of geting a Z for myself too.

How did the dealer handle the news that you wanted to change what you had on order? I'm sure that was a lot of red tape that they as well as you guys had to go through to change to the different car. Are there any fees/deposits/etc. that you may not get back when you change your mind on a car you have ordered? Just curious, I've never been fortunate enough to actually be able to order something.

Good luck with your new Z. Found some nice forums that should help you out with your mods.

They were perfectly fine with it. They said they normally wait 2 weeks before they do the ordering because they have alot of people who want to change something on an order. Once the order is finalized and past my chance to change deposit is none refundable. There isn't much head room in the roadsters I found out while I was there and I didn't wanna take their roadster out for a test drive. They had a black roadster on the floor with a $42,000 price tag. when I walked to that side of the car I laughed and went to the coupe I test drove 1st and sat in it again. Losts of head room and leg room andmore trunk space. Being a 2 seater I will need trunk space for gym bags. All stuff I shoulda thought about prior but I miss my car so much I start jumping into things.
