Yeah, I just saw a commercial on TV last night for it. I didn't know they were coming out with another IPOD. Sure did look cool in the commercial.

If you're a nano owner, any user with a defective screen should contact Apple. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...dc_11h ... b/wlg/7911

You can still get a Mini at your local Apple store. I got my wife one for her birthday, (4 gig, green) $199, + $50 for 2 yrs of Applecare. The Nano just looks like it would break if you held it too hard, the Mini's are tried and true.

why in the world would anyone spend $250 for 4 GB when u can spend $299 for 20GB?!?! yeah the nano is tiny, but the regular iPod is still as small as my wallet, or even smaller

These people sat on the Nano, dropped it while running, driving, throwing, ran over with a car, etc.http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/nano.ars/3Quote, originally posted by tnpartsguy »The Nano just looks like it would break if you held it too hard, the Mini's are tried and true.

i just heard the nano is cracking with "normal" use, sounds like apples gonna have to fix the material they use.

Loving the look and concept of the Nano so far -- cheap polycarbonate screens and all at this point. My biggest beef is that they still don't come with a simple FM tuner, whereas just about every competitor has figured out that one by now.

but how often do you listen to fm when u have gigs of songs? maybe for sports or something on FM but id rather listen to a homemade playlist than fm. also it keeps the unit smaller...a little, well specially the nano.

I saw a nano at best buy the other day. I had to do a double-take. I could not BELIEVE how small it was!Almost looked like a ruler or something. Blows my mind.

I guess it's nice to see something tested for its durability, but in a way, what I saw there just makes me sick. A perfectly good piece of equipment that would have worked nicely for someone for a number of years is destroyed in no time at all. That would have been an awesome xmas present for the poor kid that has a computer but can't afford an ipod. They did fail to test one condition that has happened to me quite a bit - get the damn thing wet! Spill something on it and see what happens. There's a far greater chance i'm going to get the thing wet than running over it with the car a few times...

So you guys who use iPods--what would you recommend? I've never used one before and have no idea how. But my Dad is a HUGE Mac user, and mentioned getting me one for Christmas. I'm going to put one on my Christmas list, but don't know which one would be the best one to get. I have over 1,300 cds and know I couldn't get ALL of them on an iPod (wouldn't want to either), but I'm just wondering which one is the best for the money, with the best abilities? Thanks for your help!

man i love my mini 6gb. it was a present and holds plenty of songs to get me through the day 1400 i think, i just put my new cd's and fav music on it from itunes then shuffle it when i listen to it. i heart shuffle. but the best GB for the buck is the 60gb or 20gb, the mini/nano is sort of a waste of money if you want capacity, they are really for people on the go, working out or need space saving mp3 player. if i was to pay for a ipod i would get the 20 or 60gb one.

My wife just got the U2 ipod... Best part is her client bought it for her for a job well done! Thought it would come with at least one song on it and it did not. I mean it is special edition and all. Just looks like any other only with a special U2 case. It does not even have a 1 of #### on it. Oh well it was free, cannot beat that!

Is he a big music fan? Or is he a techie? Does he like gadgets?#1 Ipod Mini 6 gig. Will fill mosts needs, but hurry, the online Apple store no longer has them. My local Apple store did a week ago, but they are going quickly.#2 Ipod 20 gig. $50 more than the 6 gig Mini, and if you're a big music fan, or have lots of files you want to keep close at hand, this is for you (or him).#3 Ipod Nano 4 gig. If he just has to have the latest and greatest gadgets. My personal choice for me? Ipod 60 gig, so I can have music, and take pictures, files, ect with me. I just wish they made them in colours, as I hate the white. yes I know about the U2 version, but I'm just not that excited with the red and black look either.....Abyss needs to be monochromatic.......Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, think about it.....a Neptune iPod!! or a Fusion iPod.....

LOL Calm down TN!! Actually, it's for me--my dad mentioned getting my sister and I one for Christmas, and I really liked the idea (can't afford to get one on my own). I"m NOT a techie at all, but I love music, so I suppose one that would hold lots of songs would be the way to go. I don't care about pictures and all that other stuff--if I want that I'll get a camera. I just want a good buy, that will work for my needs, which is a lot of songs. Thanks for the input guys!!
