Hi All,Just bought a base model with standard audio. Really need to upgrade the sound. Here's the plan. New CD receiver headunit with a 4-channel amplifier mounted under the passenger seat, 6.5 inch Infinity Kappa's all around: component's up front (same tweeter mount position as the M&T's), and the 2-way's in the rear.Been looking at the Rockford Fosgate "Riot Gamma Geometry" speaker wire (braided with a third strand which they call "inductive control core"). The only issue I have regarding this wire is the price... $1.50/foot for 15 gauge at Crutchfield. (The 11 gauge is $2.50/foot). This brings me to my question. How much speaker wire will I need to purchase without either running short or wasting money on an excessive length of unused wire? Thanks for your help.MobyJuan

what's so good about this speaker wire ? You could get some 10 or 12 guage speaker wire at Home Depot for cheap. Sorry I don't know how much is needed. I guess I'm not much help eh ?

I'd worry more about the patch cables from radio to amp than the speaker wire... I think that stuff is way overkill.

You will need probably no more than 40 feet to wire all four doors to your amp location. I did a similar install back in July and had 50 feet of wire to work with. I don't remember the exact lengths that I used, but I cut the front channels to equal length and the rear channels a bit shorter, but also equal. I think it may have been 15 feet for the front and 10 for the rear. Originally, I was not going to install the amp undernearth the seat. I knew there would be more slack on the right side of the car for obvious reasons, but I ended up with more than I really wanted. It really all depends how and where you run your wires.
