Hi one and all ,This weekend i will be picking up a bike from Brampton ,i live in North York so ,I will be driving to and fro about 80km on the 401 .I need suggestions as to how i can transport it in my vibe (i dont have bike racks yet).I was thinking of putting the rear seats down and covering the plastic cargo area with some old sheets and putting 2 entrance mats on them and then placing the bike(flat) on and securing it to the rails with bungee cords .I dont want the bike to be moving around .Will this suffice .Will the bike fit ??I need inputs from fellow genvibe forum members .Any suggestions are very welcome .Thanks in advance.

Well the bike should fit lying down, fold down the middle seats and passanger one if you can. Also maybe remove the bike's front wheel and set it in there as well for even more room cause sometimes making that fit is the fun part. And I would lay a blanket down as well, protect the interior from any scratches it might get.

My boyfriend transports his bike in the Vibe all the time. We put the back seats down and it fits in without taking the wheels off. I believe its a 20 inch frame on the bike. It doesn't move around at all but that could be because we have the rear cargo mat.

i took my road bike to vermont last year in the vibe.took off the front wheel and then had to tilt it a bit to get it into the vibe so that it is almost verical when inside. Put it up against one side then used a couple of bungee cords and the chrome loops on the side to hold it up against the side of the car. that left the rest of the back clear for suitcases, golf clubs, etc. wish i took a picture to explain better but i didn't
