The American Red Cross and other organization are being flooded with donations. After reading stories and hearing rescuers say they could save people but not their animals, my heart just broke. I am very much an animal person, as I know some of you out here are, so I thought I would let you know that the Humane Society of the US is accepting donations to help them help the animals. If you are interested in donating to their cause, here is the URL:

I can't afford to do much right now, but after seeing on tv that a lot of animals were being cared for in Texas, I made a donation to the Texas SPCA--it wasn't much but it was all I could do at the time. When I get a little extra money I plan on helping the New Orleans Humane Society as well. My heart does break every time I see some of those poor animals who CANT leave without our help.

Since I'm a high school student, I dont have much to give, but I did give $10 to the Red Cross. And in my creative Writing Class, we wrote letters to pin pals in the Astro Dome. That made me feel warm and fuzzy
