I was lookinf at the optima battery websight and they don't list a battery for the matrix/vibe, but i recall seeing pic's of vibes with yellow top optima batteries in there. Anyone know if the there is an optima battery that fits into the vibe, or if some modification is needed?

I know for a fact that you can put an Optima Yellow Top in a Vibe (GT at least) because that's exactly what mine had in it the day I test drove it (blue ground wire kit and all!) but then the service department jacked all that >| along with the amp for the subs! Dirty SOBs.

I have a yellow top in mine but I had to get post extensions to get it to work. Think you can order one that will work better but I don't know the model number. If you do a search you should find the info you are looking for:

the red top fit fine. it was plenty enough power. yellow top would work too, but may be a little excessive. 720 cca is good and i had no problems at all. yes, i know. the engine was a bit dirty. lol. now my red top's in my LGT. great battery!

Just got a responce from optima is the red top 35 or the yellow top D35. I was looking on ebay fro cheap ones and found some as low as like $60, that seem to be sold by companies. The price kinda concerns me becasue its so cheap compared to what stores sell them for.

when purchasing ANYTHING from ebay, check the sellers info and feedback, and also look at how much they will rape you on shipping. i can't imagine it cheap to ship a battery! go to costco or your local battery store if you want to make sure it fits correctly and you get your warranty.

You can get them online at Checker Auto. You will need two parts. The extension: http://www.partsamerica.com/Pr...LCST2The post: http://www.partsamerica.com/Pr...STCP2Or you should be able to find these at your local auto parts store.

i didn't need any extensions other than the the little plastic "booster seat" for the battery. it came with it so no probs.

If your getting this battery for your sterio system remember one thing, you want yellow if you draw alot of current with car off and red if car is on.

Looking at the Sears site, there were two battery numbers for the Vibe1. Group 35 9 11/16 x 6 7/8 x 8 3/16 36 lbs2. Group 26R 8 3/4 x 6 3/4 x 7 3/16 31 lbsAuto Zone - Duralast also listed 35-DL 550 CCA and 26R-DL 575 CCAIs this an either/or or do you just look to see what's in there now?Sears ad today - price was $54.95 but looks like they charge $12.95 to install.Who sells the Optima?? Buying on e-Bay the shipping would kill any savings.

just to save people the hastle i had, make sure the sales man gives u the 35 not a 75/35. the diff is that the terminals are reversed on the 35 so that they are at the far back of battery so the cables will reach and be on right side. This was why i had such an issue at first

noob question here.what does this change or make better? is it a mod that is highly recommended?

it just allows you to run higher powered items like a/m stereo, amps, any a/v systems, etc. the stock battery since you have an 05 will be ok if everything is stock. if you do anything else though, then you may want to get a better battery.
