What is up with all the people looting down there?????I can understand taking food, water and stuff like that for survival but (removed) are they taking TVs. Its not like there is going to be electricity any time soon. What a bunch of scum bags!!!!!!

Yeah I hope they get electrocuted when they plug it in. Disasters bring out the best in people and also the worst. Try to remember for every dirtbag that steals a TV there are a hundred people helping their neighbors or even strangers through this difficult time.

They should be shot on sight.

IMHO, it should be open season on the hundreds (thousands?) of TV REPORTERS getting in the way of rescue efforts in their lame, pathetic, shameless attempts to 'get the real story'! Law enforcement, rescuers, and National Guardsmen should have orders to 'SHOOT TO KILL REPORTERS'. The magnitude of lives lost and property damage from this disaster is just beginning to unfold. As bad as it was, the WTC and Pentagon devastation of 9/11/2001 was minor by comparison. If I'd just been through Hurricane Katrina and a %$@#%*&^%*& TV reporter stuck a mic in my face and asked, 'How do you feel right now?', I'd have my hands around the reporter's throat choking every last bit of life out of them, before they knew what hit 'em!

Not only do they need to be concerned about diseases, but snakes, fire ants, and various other critters are a danger there as well.Quote, originally posted by kostby »The magnitude of lives lost and property damage from this disaster is just beginning to unfold. As tragic as it was, I was able gauge the magnitude of the damage of the events that took place that day. With the damage from Katrina, I *still* haven't the foggiest about just how bad it *really* is... And we won't know for a while. This is really, really bad folks I had no idea just how bad this was until this evening, and I've been following the storm since it left Florida!!

I thought looters could be shot on sight? Hrm... I hear idiots are climing through the shipwrecked casino boats and getting away with bags of chips. Idiots... I will enjoy the news reports in a few months of these morons trying to cash in chips and getting arrested shortly after.yep - I agree with CP... kill the newsies if they're in the way. Also shoot: Morons who didn't leave when told to. People who left their pets behind. Anyone dumb enough not to have flood insurance living 20' below sea level.

The really funny part of it all is that most of those looting probaly don't have a home left to bring it to.

of course whats really sad is all this looting is overwhelming the fact that this is a disaster... people died. places are destroyed...

yes, people fail to realize how devastating natural disasters can be. we're still waiting to hear back from some relatives if their house survived. very doubtful since it was 20 yards from the levy.

one of the people I online game with, found out this morning her friend died... she had been seeking refuge from the rising water in the attic and when the roof ripped off... she was hit in the head... died of blunt force to the head and was found floating in the remains of her house...

New Orleans mayor just redirected 1500 NO cops from search and rescue to anti-looting duty. So, the looters are diverting resources from life saving. Their personal greed kills.

Looters: May someone loot your home while you are out looting, and leave a big steamer in the middle of your bed.

Not related to looting, but still pertains to completely senseless violence...They *were* in the process of evacuating those poor souls from the superdome and trying to get them in busses and send them to the astrodome... I just learned that they had to stop the evacuation dead in its track because some asshats were shooting at the helicopters which were being used for the operation. Why the hell would you be stuck in an absolute ****hole, no way out as far as the eye can see, yet you try to bite the only hand that can feed you? So, you WANT to walk around in a pool of toxic chemicals, human excrement, bacteria, a slew of who knows how many critters, etc? You do huh? Oh, I get it, so you can go back to wal mart and steal more crap that you can't use because you can't plug the damn thing in anywhere. So I guess it *does* go back to looting. Ungrateful, disrespectful punks. I feel terrible for those that are stuck in the superdome - no functioning sewer or water, no electricity. Hot as hell. I've heard reports of dead bodies scattered about in there, rapes taking place there, etc. Plus it was 97 degrees there yesterday.

was watching the news last night. Its sad that most of the rescue people have been diverted to stopping looters. I did get a laugh though at the guy with the AK yelling at people to drop the goods they had stolen. Seriously though... ok now the stolen goods are in the streets? Might as well only try and stop them from leaving the store with it.

Just shoot them. I would it it were my store and **** was being stolen/looted from it.Taken from MSNBC:Quote »..Police Capt. Ernie Demmo said a National Guard military policeman was shot in the leg as the two scuffled for the MP’s rifle. The man was arrested. “These are good people. These are just scared people,†Demmo said. MY (removed) this guy is "good people"...trying to steal an MP's rifle? (removed) is going on down there!?! Has the devil unleashed himself?

Well how else can you explain to me while people are dying, trapped, homeless... all most can think about is grabbing stuff from stores, which in turn causes rescue efforts to be put on hold to handle?Hey if everyone just went and got drunk, well cool.
