**Results from 2nd fill up in last post.Just got my Vibe on Friday and already put 550kms on it. These results aren;t rock solid because when I picked up the Vibe there was 24kms on it and the tank was full. I doubt they topped it up but I can't be sure. I think I'll keep track for awhile and see how I do with time.2005 Vibe FWD 5 speedlitres/100kms city/hwy/comb 7.9/5.9/7.0MPIG city/hwy/comb 36/48/401st fill up582 kms361.6 miles40.58 litres10.72 gallons8.93 gallons(imperial)33.73 miles per gallon40.49 miles per gallon(imperial)6.97 litres/100kmThat was prob 70/30 hwy/city driving with A/C on most of the time. Also tire pressure was 38psi (6 too high) I drove it fairly easy trying to keep rpm's under 3k most of the time. Happy with results and hopefully it will just improve

Very nice. I bet with the A/C off you could probably see 35+ MPG.Edit: Wait were you at 40+ (US)MPG? If so, holy crap!

I got my vibe on Friday, topped off then after going into work Friday night I headed off to show it to my parents and grandparents about 240 miles away... I reset the trip odo.. and the fuel light came on just before I headed back here... at 320 miles... I added just over 10 gallons to it before the first "auto-off" click of the gas pump... so apparently the low fuel indicator comes on when about 2 or 3 gallons are left in the tank... So on my first fill up.. average of about 32 MPG, driving was mostly highway with AC on.. and about 50 miles in city.Gas in S.C. is around 2.45 gal today...

Just got back from a short trip in my 04 Auto. and got 33 mpg going, and 36 mpg coming back. And thats with using the air for a time also. With gas prices climbing, so is the value of a cool car with good gas milage like the Vibe. (U.S.A.)

I got 29.42 mpg after my first fill-up. It was 90% highway driving at 80 mph with the a/c on and bucking a 15 mph headwind. I'll take that any day.

I'm still averaging 550+ km per tank city driving only and I got a heavy foot to. Of course its hard to know exactly how much I'd get per tank as I fill up when I reach 1/4 tank left. Now my road trip up here to alaska across canada. I was averaging 600+ at 1/4 of fuel left. I was getting 180km before the needle even moved.

I just filled up the Vibe GT today and it got 31.3mpg. It was mostly highway, part city and the A/C was on the whole time. I though there would be a bigger difference between the base and the GT

my first tank i think i got 30mpg. i was ecstatic, since my previous car, a 92 rodeo was getting 15mpg.the highest i've gotten is 32mpg, which is totally cool after driving a gas-guzzling SUV for about 10 years

New member with a 2005 standard Vibe with auto trans. First two tanks gave me 30mpg with mostly highway combined with a little city driving. Highway speed about 70-75 mph. Much better than previous car...but hoping for more.Bob

Don't forget, it takes a while for the computer to dial in the engine too - so your first tank may be a bit lower than normal. Also, break-in will rob you of a few mpg - not as bad as it used to be though.

I was very surprised with mine! On my first fill up, it was 36 miles per gallon with the AC on most of the time but offcourse, my work is 8 minutes away from my apartment.Gas here in Oregon is $2.83/gallon and on my second fill up, I avoid using AC since its starting to get cold here (Fall coming).

We like our Vibe a lot, but our fuel economy has been disappointing. Highway mileage is about 25-27 mpg, which is equal to what my 3500-lb 3.8L Grand Prix gets.

I've been averaging 29 to 32 mpg (imperial) for just city driving, back and forth to work, A/C on 100% of the time.So far the best HWY miles I've had was 39 mpg on a holiday trip, fully loaded, 4 passengers and gear (all inside), speeds were from about 100kmh (62mph) to 125kmh (78mph), and the revs below 3k most of the time.No-one drives below 115kmh on the 401 in Ontario, if you're doing 100kmh (posted) drivers honk and pass and give you that look or the finger. The semis? They usually run 120+.

Hello -> 8:05 AM 9/3/2005> > and for u MPG guys....> > Attachment: NewMicrosoftWordDocument(2).doc> (49664 bytes, downloaded 27 times)I analyzed this data in a different way. I analyzed for total mileage. I did the following : - Subtracted the end KM reading from the start KM reading : 91,215 - 84,320 = 6,895 KM total - Totaled the litres of gas up to but NOT including the last fill up (since this gas would be used *after* the fill up) and got 614.885 litres total. - Divided KM by Litres and got 11.21 KM/Litre. - Went to a website called : http://www.onlineconversion.co...n.htm and converted KM/Liter into MPG.I ended up with a result of 26.37 MPG. Is this right? Is the website in error? I am including a picture from the website to show you what I mean. What do you think?

Ok .....I think that the word document is in UK MPG. When I calculate for UK MPG I get 11.21 km/liter = 31.666113 miles/gallon(UK). This is much closer to the average of the MPG ratings in the document (32.73 MPG).I didn't think 26+ US MPG looked right, but 31+ UK MPG looks fine.Nevermind,

I'm hoping I get better mileage in the Spring/summer. Right now I'm averaging around 25mpg and that's with about 97% highway driving. The highest temperature here in the past 2-3 weeks has been 30 degrees with it averaging around 8-12.
