For single guys... has a Vibe improved your love life?

I am starting this thread cause I am about to be single again. I really dislike my current gf. In fact, the vibe caused some more drama... she is delusional and thinks we are going to stay together forever and such, when its gonna be over in like a week... Anyways, just after I bought the vibe, I drove it over to her house to show her and instead of her being positive about it she was about to cry cause she thinks I should be saving my money "for when WE move to Atlanta"... LOL!Anyways, it really #%$#^ me off that she didn't have anything nice to say about my new vibe, So I am going to break up with her.So, I remember just after high school getting a red 1992 Talon TSX, and it either helped my confidence, or chicks still dig hot cars... So whats the stories guys! (and girls?) any cat calls to your vibes? impress your dates? (dare I say it? anyone laid down the seats and made it a love-wagon?)This thread might be fun... then again, it might be pulled by the moderator.

HAHA, this can be a fun topic. No, it hasn't improved my love life at all LOL. But whenever girls get in my car, they love it. I don't want a girl that likes me because of the car I drive. I never bring up my car in conversations and they don't know what I drive until they see it in person. If she asks about it, then I'll talk about it, but usually car talk is with the guys.About laying down the back seats, I've slept back there by myself on a trip, but there is a topic on here all about what you're talking about LOL. You could probably find it in a search, it started probably over a year ago.

Yea....im still single even after buying the vibe but with the new vibe its better than driving a mini van i used to have for a couple months... The ladies dont know what it is, but when they see it they think its cute and then i take them for a ride...oh yea (take that as you will )

Just to be clear. I know that cars don't make good relationships.... but after years of owning cars that were ugly, crappy, and nothing to look at... It feels good driving around and knowing that people ARE looking at it in a positive way.I'm considering not letting my soon-to-be ex gf ride in my new Vibe. She really knows how to crap up a car with trash and junk.I'm CERTAINLY not letting her drive it.Can you tell I don't really like her.... and yes I'll say it.. I like my VIBE a lot more than her!for the record... no nods from the girls yet.. but maybe I'll take it down to Myrtle Beach (SC) for a cruise up and down the strip in a couple of weeks... I haven't had a car that I felt comfortabe doing that in, for a while.

Well, since I've had my Vibe, I've been home alot less (cruising around and running errands and stuff)...So the wife and I haven't had as many opportunities to argue and fight as much as we used to. So, Yes... the Vibe has improved my relationship. Just kidding Dear! I love you! (

I broke up with my (now ex) girlfriend when I ordered my Vibe and then married a Vibe owner beauty a year later The ex did not like the Vibe... but that was not the reason for the breakup.

My argument with my dad while buying the vibe...Me: Dad, I want a used Mustang, maybe like a 95 5.0 gtDad: but insurance will be too much, plus you'll probably wreck it racing. What do you think of the vibe?ME: Well the vibe looks alright, but you know dad, if you buy me us (my sister and I) a vibe, someones getting pregnant back there...EDIT: Someone OUTSIDE my family, nice catch gargoyle And I still got the vibe, i'd gladly give up a 14 sec 1/4 mile for a car that folds out like a freakin queen size bed

I've never owned a previous car this is my first. From what I observe alot of girls will try to race me and screw around. Maybe they know it'll be an easy kill or maybe (I hope) they are just flirting. A couple gorgeous girls in a turbo Saab did it at the dream cruise and then asked for my number. I also raced a chick in a 350z. That was a blast. She was way older than me but it was funny. Of course the Vibe is slow so I lose every race but they just think it's "cute" tee hee.I kinda am the same way as JustinVGT. I ALLWAYS talk about cars and stuff and even about my car (not bragging but just talking about my future plans with it and stuff). I will talk about cars when I'm with girls because I love cars but I normally wont bring up my car until they see it and ask about it. I know most girls don't care about cars and they probably wouldn't know what a Vibe was (like Mavrik said) but I will show them the sweet side of the Vibe if they want to see it...engine, the sound of the exhaust and stuff, and of course the fold down seats are pretty popular along with the electrical outlet in the dash.

haven't really though about doing it in the vibe. my wife loves it. she didn't like the idea of a stick shift. she almost convinced me too.she kept on saying how ... "she couldn't reach MY shifter because i had to keep my arm on the shifter" but that didn't take long to fix. i had to learn how to shift with my finger tips. lol

To answer the question, YES! The Vibe brought me someone I never thought I would meet, ever. No question about that! But we aren't together because we were out cruising, saw one another and thought "oh wow, they have a cool car!" It just so happened that we were hundreds of miles apart, bought almost the same exact cars, and found ourselves meeting here. Pretty cool if I don't say so myself. I agree with those who have said that it's not going to be that great a relationship if you just find someone who digs you for your ride. You need someone that will appreciate you for you, not for a heap of metal, plastic, glass, and rubber. Otherwise, that's pretty shallow. Like the locals around here - they get their mullet all spiffied up, grab the Whitesnake tape, hop in their transcamarostang, and go cruisin' - just tryin' to get lucky... (yes, i know it's 2005 but they didn't get the memo. heh) Yeah, that's a quality relationship. No thanks!

I'm a girl, and I can't say that having the Vibe has helped my "love" life. I have a boyfriend, and have since I got the car. But I will admit I've never been into cars until I got the Vibe. He's a total gearhead and likes to talk cars, and I never used to care--but now that I have the Vibe and spend a lot of time on genvibe.com, he laughs at me at my "knowledge" of cars, and especially my Vibe. I think he thinks it's 'cute'. So I guess now we can sort of be 'into' cars together, so I guess in that aspect, yes, having the Vibe HAS helped!

No thanks!i think you're right on, CP. had it not been for the vibe and this site, i'd never have met my true love either. life is funny sometimes. and i would covet your hundreds of miles apart versus the thousands of miles apart we endured last year. however, i don't covet the time it will be before you guys are going to be together.

Eh, guess I've got to take the good with the bad. He was telling me how he's going to put in a supercharged 3800 engine, and lower the Vibe, among other things. So I guess if I have to endure a car show or two, I can probably handle it! But if it weren't for genvibe.com, I wouldn't even KNOW what a supercharged engine, or lowering my car meant!

could you imagine stuffing a V8 in that little engine compartment? granted a s/c V6 would be cool, but what about a HEMI? ya right!

I think a Pontiac 3800 supercharged engine would work a little better in a Vibe then a hemi... Grand Prix gets better fuel mileage... imagine all that power in a lighter car. Man that Vibe would have balls.Of course I'd like to put an STi engine in my Vibe... which I know is 100% impossible to do. But that was be a lot of fun.
