Front Door Adjustment Question

I need to adjust the stricker plate on the front door but i dont know what part to use to unscrew it. the dealer said to use a torx bit but they cant tell me where to find one or what size it is, as it is not a pontiac/toyota part, its just a bolt....does someone know exactly what i need to use to do this

stop by your local auto parts and ask the person who works there if they can help you can find the torx bit you need. They should be glad to help you find the right one. If Not go to a different parts store.

Not sure if you want to adjust the part that is in the door or the part that is on the door jamb. Either way, you'll need a torx bit The ones on the door are T-30, and the ones on the door jamb are T-40 Torx bits are like sockets and wreches, just a standard type of tool, not some special dealer part. You can probably pick up a set of torx bits at a hardware store, or in the tool section of walmart. I bought a set of torx bits that fit on a ratchet like sockets do, don't use them that much, but sure do come in handy when you need them.something like this stanley set will run $20 - $30. Sears has a set for $140

walmart usually has them too
