I guess I need to pay the parents a visit... That's the only place I get to read Autoweek. I remember reading the article on the pre-pre-pre-pre-production Solstice so long ago... That damn car had one power window on the driver's door, but the passenger's side had a crank. Can't remember anything else though. I hope they worked out that glitch. (removed)!

It's a good read...they praise the car up and down, and say it's a sign of great things to come from the general...

If you wait a couple of weeks to order, Mike, you'll probably get GM Employee Pricing, a $15,000 rebate, an additional $5,000 'We're GM-we'll discount anything under the sun' incentives AND a bag of chips!

Actually, I DON'T doubt that thousands of saavy 'speculators' HAVE placed orders for an '06 Solstice. Like one guy I knew back in the day, he would order several fully loaded newly announced 'collectible' cars (e.g. Mustang GT, Prowler, PT Cruiser) at different dealers when they were announced, he paid cash for the first one that actually came in, and drove it a while before selling it slightly used (30 to 90 days and a few thousand miles) at a substantial PROFIT because 'collectible' new models were always in such high demand the first year or so. Then he'd buy the next car that came in and so on until the market began to cool off. He made money AND always drove the latest hot cars!
