Pics needed: Stock tweeter wiring

As I continue my "restockifying" efforts, I've come to a crossroads at which point I need help of the community. Can someone with an 03/04 M&T setup (manufactured BEFORE 12/2004) take a picture of either stock tweeter for me (remove the sail panel, of course). I had cut the wiring off them to install my aftermarkets, and now I need to reinstall them, but can't tell for the LIFE of me which terminal on the tweeters is positive and which is negative. They aren't labeled or in any way differentiated. All i need to know is which terminal has the wire with the strip going to it...Thanks in advance!

Just let it go back with a four speaker system. hehShouldn't they work either way? I've hooked speakers up umpteen times before the wrong way and they still worked... But I dunno, ain't no audio guru.

It *does* produce sound either way, but I'm not sure that it's technically *supposed* to go the "wrong" way. Something about phase maybe? I dunno...

Yeah, I guess you're right... There's probably a capacitor inline somewhere to act as a filter, whacking all frequencies below a certain point. There, I guess proper polarity would be a good idea.Look at you, all wantin' to make sure that everything is done right and stuff. If it were me, I'd be half-arsing the stuff since my car is only worth fifty cents anyway. I wish I could help ya, but if I take the door panel off one more time, it won't go back on properly. I've already broke the damn tweeter panel so it won't stay where it needs to stay.

Sorry Mike, can't help you with providing a pic since I have my aftermarket setup.About this wiring diagram, I am pretty sure I am reading it correctly that it shows the wires coming out of the amp for the tweeters and I don't think that is correct. When I installed my sub last weekend I tapped into the speaker outputs and there are only 4 pairs. Like Colonolpanic mentioned above, there is probably a capacitor inline some where filtering out the low frequencies.

thanks mcvibe, unfortunately, that does NOT help. oddly enough. is yours an 04? Mine does not have that capacitor on the speaker, and the wires are soldered to the two outer terminals with the center remaining unused.

Yea, mines an 04, bought it early 04 too...thats odd. Could you have removed the capacitor when you installed the other tweeters?

You wouldn't happen to have the Nav system, would you McVibe? The M&T setup doesn't need caps on the tweeters as the crossover is built into the amplifier..As for having the speakers connected backwards, if one is wired opposite of the other, it throws them out of 'phase', which makes everything sound wierd (laymans terms). Tweeters, though..shouldn't be too badly affected.

Nope, I'm too poor for navigation , I got a single CD regular M&T setup.
