Stupid Rattles and Squeaks.

We have had the vibe a whopping week now. The plastic that covers the A pillar on the drivers side rattles all the time.. Is there any special way to remove it, or just grab and pull. I can see that it is not installed properly, as the bottom edge does not line up perfectly with the dash. I called the dealer and I cannot get the car in for a few days and I really dont wanna wait that long.

Yup, pulls out toward the center of the dash. Two clips hold it in..

Well, I pulled the a-pillar cover off, and it DIDNT STOP THE RATTLE. It seems to be somewhere inside the dash.

Do you have the stock radio or an aftermarket?

It is a stock radio. We only pickedthe car up last week. So far i lie it other than the rattle in the dash. On all the a prefectly smooth road it rattles constantly.

There's a screw that someone on matrixowners found that was a bit loose, but you have to take the dash off to get to it. I personally don;t have that problem, but I do have an annoying squeak that comes from the head liner right behind my head about 3 or 4 inches from where the moonroof ends. Only happens when it's closed too. I'd send you a link to that thread on matrixowners, but they changed the format of the board and it's impossible to find old topics. I'll see if I can though

Quote, originally posted by Pigs »haha yeah the car does rattle a lot.. :DYep, I have to agree... This is the worst car I've owned for build quality inside and out. Something deep inside the dash rattles, snaps, and pops, the dash trim vibrates, the door panels rattle, the windows rattle, the headliner rattles, the 'B' pillar trim rattles, and just about every piece of plastic in mine moans and groans when making turns at low speed.

you know, i really don't think i had too much of a problem with rattles in my VGT. of course, i also has my stereo on most of the time, so if there was, i didn't notice. but when i did have others in the car with me, i would turn the stereo off and i still don't recall any really annoying rattles other than when the heater was on past the 3rd fan setting. even in Mav's vibe, no rattles, no problems. all the way up from Ontario, no real rattles other than on the gravel and construction roads.

i searched for an annoying rattle for quite some time only to discover it was the garage door opener clipped to my visor....just thought i'd bring up this point again to try and save somebody else the aggrevation i went through!
