michelin's new tires

this is going around the email inboxes....i got snow caught in my rims last winter and it was like driving on oval wheels. i can't imagine what would happen with these!

this one uses a 'flexi-rim' so that you're essentially dealing with only a 'solid' hub.by the way....the footer on the slides is calling it the 'tweel'?

Ah yes i saw this a while ago, great idea, I think they made some for some bobcats that worked well. The thing was that for cars you couldnt go over 50 or 60 (something like that) or they became unsafe. Awesome tires..wheels though.

Those are interesting, I saw the first picture and it looked like they were driving on plain wheels and they are bent to crap from hitting that bump.

all you have to worry about is someone cutting those strands. but man are those UGLLY!!!!

The Tweel is definitely interesting.. I saw it demo'ed at the Detroit Auto show this year.Here are some more pictures of the Tweel in action:
