ha ha. good luck with that. i had a bug deflector on mine for a long time, but didn't seem to help much. there is a perfectfit one that arcsvibe says works nicely, the GM one, and the carflector (i had this one).are you looking to help keep rocks and chips down, or just bugs? if you are looking to protect the paint then i'd suggest a clear bra or clear hood protector. someone also said the magnetic car bra on ebay works well too. when we drove the hubby's vibe from London, ONT to Anchorage, AK in May we ordered the front end mask to help with the rocks, bugs, and other road animals. lol. worked great and his paint is still intact.

I got one of the "perfect fit" deflectors it looks pretty cool, but I am not sure how much it deflects the bugs cause with the drought conditions here there aren't too many bugs out. But there is a noticable difference. I got it from

Forget about getting the "Perfect Fit" from the dealers they stopped carrying them. You will have to find them on the internet. I had to get another one and the GM dealer only carries the Carflector one. Total cost was 59$ plus tx.Honestly I would spring a little more and get the 3M hood cover. Ultracar here in Montreal installs it for 169$ plus tx.

Is there any drilling necessary with the Carflector??? Sometimes there are predrilled holes on the underside of the frontal hood area?????

No predrilling. You just locate the 4 circular holes on the underside of the hood that align with the holes in the bug deflector. Screw them in and voila, its done! This one took me all of 5 minutes to install

scratch the hood ??? do they do that ?i got one installed recently (ventishade if i am not mistaken). not a perfect fit, but no problems such as vibration, etc.it came with a couple of plastic 'bumps' that go on the hood beneath the deflector 'to prevent vibration' as the instructions say. i didn't use them - there seems to be a considerable gap bewteen the deflector and the hood.am i missing something ?
