unfortunately, on the new 05 LGT's they incorporated the HU with the HVAC controls! everyone i've talked to said it wouldn't be a good idea to try and upgrade or it would cost too much $$$$ to do it without screwing up something. plus, SOA would void anything that would be blamed on the wiring for certain! oh well. just added my RF amp and Kicker solobaric in the trunk. it gives me plenty of thump for my tastes. a spiffy DVD system like you have would be sweet, but purely cosmetic. if i were gonna spend that kinda money on the car for mods, it'd be all performance! stage 2 + baby!

I know exactly what you're saying about all performance. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of the sub and putting some 6x9s in the rear storage compartments on the side for bass AND ATR turbo coming in the spring, pending results of the long term testing. But having the dvd is sweet, of course I don;t watch movies while I'm driving, well, if someone is in the car I make sure they watch something I;'ve already seen so I know whats going on just listening. Usually I have music videos playing so I can have the best of both worlds.

unless it's a gps, the cops and troopers will nail anyone with anything remotely LOOKING like a movie while driving (in the driver's line of vision).2 years ago, a guy hit a family of four, killed like 6 people because he was watching a movie on a portable DVD player, the passenger was watching. everyone, including the passenger with the DVD player died but the driver. he went to jail for 6 counts of manslaughter and some other things they threw at him, no chance of parole for 50 yrs or something.

Thankfully I'm not a moron and I don't watch while driving and the screen is low enough where you can;t see it from behind or from the front. You can only really see it if you're next to me plus there's a button that shuts the screen off. No worries though, I usually drive without music or movies. I like to listen to the sound of my engine, but I understand the concern about not paying attention

ya, i had my laptop hooked up in the car, mobile office of sorts. had the GPS all hooked up so i could see where i was going and get a nice trail to show where i'd been for work. had to be careful that i paid attention to the road though.

That is probably the best sentence ever thought up by a human being Storm.A friend of the family as a Ferrari 360 spyder at one of his Cali. houses. He told me he has never once even touched the radio in it because he's got a Tubi exhaust and that is enough music to his ears...such wisedom...Welcome to the site btw. That road in your sig looks like it would be wonderuful to drive on. We don't have anything like that where I live.

Yeah that road is amazing it goes on like that for about 2 miles. Alot of BMW commercials are filmed there. I'm at the foothills of the catskkill mountains so there' at tons of roads like that around here. You're welcome to come drive them if you want..hehehe

Nice setup, I did the laptop gps before I got the palm gps. The best part about the palm gps is it's voice guided and in front of me so I can see it without taking my eyes off the road.

thanks for all the compliments. My trix has alot of sentimental value, long story I'm sure you guys don;t want to hear so I take my time and pride in everything I do to it.trdvibe- those are the base handles, they're not painted. I finally found someone to trade with

very nice ride i know whatcha mean about sintimental value, my vibe had many great memories and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears put into it till one jerkoff took it all away.I tell people who can't take pride in their ride to get some bus tokens.

DAmn..that's a sweet color too. It was totaled? what's next for you?

i think for most of us, our cars do serve as sentimental value because we spend so much time, money and love into them. plus, in 2 weeks, i'll be celebrating my one year anniversary with mavrik, whom i met on this website and also has (still) a fusion vibe. so when i got rid of mine, it was tough because it has that sentiment that brought the two of us together. plus, i spent a crap load of money on the damn thing! lol.trdvibe

At least yours is a happy memory, mine is well, happy, but sad...dead people you know..they ruin everything..hhaha, sorry, just trying to add light on the subject

awww. i'm sorry to hear that. still, i hope they were happy ones of those you lost. if you are going to lose someone, i prefer having a good memories with that person than bad ones. but that's just me.... all part of life i suppose.

They're all good memories especially the ones with the car. It's just sad to think about them if you know what I mean. Lots of regrets and unanswered questions with this one....
