this blows. stopped at walgreens on the way home from work. when i got out, i walk out to my vibe and whoever parked next to me scraped my right rear door on their way out. *******s! above the cladding and below the door strip. i can buff out the scuff mark, and probably go to some dent-busters kind of place, but that pisses me off

I found a few scratches when I waxed my car yesterday. I can't see why people need to put stuff on top of my car when they unlock the door of their car. I also have a deep scratch on the rockers cladding. Unfortunately its monotone.

There was no point in getting upset... someone did it to my car when I left it in the care of my folks for a few months. It could have been worse.

Wow that's worse than I thought it would be. Looks like they turned to quickly and did that with their front bumper. You could classify that as a hit and run.I try to park next to the high end cars every time I get a chance. But I do live close to a reservation so there is a lot of cars on the road that shouldn't be and sometimes the parking space next to them are the only parking spaces open. My wife looks at me funny as I'm repeating their license plate numbers to myself as I'm walking to the store. I don't know what good it would do, as there will be a very good chance that they have no insurance either

Wow, the damage is a lot worse than I was thinking as well. It looks to me like someone just drug the front of their car down the side of yours. I am sorry to see that happen.Quote, originally posted by sloth »...as I'm repeating their license plate numbers to myself as I'm walking to the store. I learned a really important lesson on that note, so I do it a little differently than you do...I physically write down the license plate numbers on a sheet of paper. My lesson...in college this guy let me borrow his car. When I got back, the only place to park was between these two crapy cars. When he went out the next morning, he had been hit. When he came back to me to ask what happened, I handed him the sheet of paper with the plate numbers and the police tracked down the people who hit him. So, needless to say, I am very careful to write down plates.

I was at Korgers a few weeks ago and this lady (sorry ladies - it WAS a lady) backed out of her parking spot and had her wheel turned hard and she "swiveled" right into the car next to her hard. She tried to just leave but the off duty police officer doing security at the store stopped her. She was parked right near the front of the store - had it happened further out in the lot no one would probably have been there to keep her from getting away. Not long after that at that same store there was a lady (sorry ladies - this too was a lady) that tried to pass a n1ce Lexus on the right as it was making a right turn into a parking space. She was going was too fast. Pretty much wiped out everything forward of the front tire. In both these case I woudl take even money that the at fault driver had no insurance.

I'd file a police report. Then maybe they can check the register to see who left the store right before you. I doubt the store would let them do that, but it's worth a try.

In my old car I restored to parking away from other people. I didn't care that I had to walk further because when I got back the car wouldn't be beat up.I do the same here at work, I always park seperately from everybody else. Noone seems to give a crap about their cars
